There are three things I consider important to all Americans with our Nation’s birthday, July 4th just around the corner:

  • Freedom
  • Family
  • And Fun on the Fourth! I’m talkin’ beach picnics and BBQ!

Of course without our freedoms that we enjoy as Americans, the other two are not possible.  And believe me, there are many millions throughout the world who still see America as the greatest country on earth. Despite all the fussing and fighting we do with each other, I believe there is no greater country that offers more freedoms to more people than the USA.

To honor those who defend our freedoms, I often recognize those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice to protect those freedoms.  But too often, I forget those Veterans who continue to suffer or struggle to read just after fighting for our freedoms. This holiday, I’m committed to honoring both.

For me, Brevard County is “Patriot County, USA” with 20% of the population either active duty, retirees, Veterans or family members.  So I have a few recommendations to honor the fallen and support those who continue to sacrifice:

I’m attending the NVHS “Rescuing Veterans Lost in America Dinner” on July 21st at the Radisson in Cape Canaveral.  Please consider joining me.

I am fortunate, as a dad, husband, and business owner, to be surrounded by a loving Family.  My wife Janice, also a Veteran, and I have two great children. One of them, Connor, has shown he has what it takes to be a great dad, husband, and business owner one day.  Right now he is doing his best to ensure that CitruSolution Brevard continues to grow as the most recommended, “Hometown News Readers Choice” and Cocoa Beach Chamber Business Champion carpet cleaning company in Brevard.  Thanks, Connor!

I am also thankful that we have a new addition to our CitruSolution family, Chris Dennon. Chris joined us and proves that when you have the right people working with you, you have reason to celebrate. Chris is a distinguished 24 year Navy Veteran and former member of the Navy’s 1% – the submarine service.  He and his family live in Rockledge and his wife, also a Veteran, continues to serve our country working at the VA Clinic in Viera. Welcome aboard shipmate!

Now, let’s have some fun – no matter how you celebrate this great nation. Be safe and SOBER if you drive, be a diligent Patriot and keep your head on a swivel, leave the fireworks to professionals and BBQ to your heart’s desire.  PS if you have a party and your carpet gets dirty, you know who to call! Happy 4th of July!
